Shannon McCarthy (she/her) is an educational and developmental psychologist who fosters a safe and nurturing environment for young people to explore their strengths and challenges and find comfort in being their authentic selves.
Shannon has experience working with children and young people in both school and clinical environments. She values working collaboratively with young people, their families, teachers, and other professionals. ​​
Shannon uses a person-centred and strengths-based approach, integrating evidence-based therapeutic frameworks like Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She utilises Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT-E) for adolescents and young adults with current or emerging eating disorders.
